HOW TO WIN AT COLLEGE
While reading this passage I couldn't help but agree with almost everything. When they began to talk about decorating the dorm rooms i agreed on how the boys decorate. They usually just put up random pictures of athletes that they aspire to be or "hot" girls. Many of them also put up posters and signs related to drinking and partying. Also, i found it intersesting that they said not to study together. I find studying together helps me more than not helping me. I understand though how they say just ask people for clarification. During my study groups we baxically start out clearing things up for eachother then we quiz eachother. Another thing that I found intersting is that they actually tell you not to eat with people. I do not agree with this. Yes we may take longer to eat as a group but its a way of relaxing and getting our frustrations out. Another thing I liked that they said was that you have to take time to stay in touch with your friends from home. This summer actually my friends from home and I stopped talking to what I thought was my best friends since eighth grade. This is because whenever we tried to keep in touch with her she would blow us off and we got frusterated with her. This piece of writing is a great thing that all incoming freshman should read.

This passage is similar to the first. I liked how they said not to do everything with your roommate and to give them space. I find this true because I am a person that needs alone time at points of the day. Also, if you do everything with your roommate you may get sick of eachother and never talk again. It is a good idea to let eachother be on their own for a while. I also like how this book was written by students. In the beging of the book they talk about how every ones frewshman experience is different. I have to agree whole-heartedly with this. My experience was totally different than any of my friends experience from home. I also liked that they said to join clubs. I my self was in many clubs and I believe this helped me transitioning into college. I also like when they said to make sure you take the time to say good-bye. When I left for college last year the whole week before I went to peoples houses to say good-bye. I actually saved my closest friend for the day of or the day before my leaving for school. Also, when my parents and I said good-bye it was over dinner. They took me to dinner then we went back to my dorm to finish packing. As I went to trough something out I ran into some girls in my hallway and said hi. As my oarents being my parents they decided this would be a perfect time to leave. So after our long dinner and unpacking of my room my parents left. I felt like this was a good way of saying good-bye because it gave us time to prepare ourselves for eachothers departure.
